How to remove buttons in Yahoo Tool bar?

I can't figure out how to remove the Yahoo Tool Bar for Internet explorer - I hate this thing.?

  • There is no pencil icon on the tool bar. When I go to Add/Remove Programs the Yahoo tool bar ain't there. When I go to My Computer, C Drive, Programs, Yahoo, ytun I get an error message that says "Install.log not found. This file is necessary tor the uninstall to continue" Why do I think that they want this to be as hard as it can be?

  • Answer:

Something may have corrupted your registry or you've got a bad or corrupted installation of the Y! Toolbar. I'd suggest downloading the latest version from here http://toolbar.yahoo.com and installing it. This should install over the previous version. You should then be able to uninstall cleanly from the Add/Remove Programs menu. There should also be an Uninstall Toolbar option from the Y! Toolbar Settings menu (the replacement for the old pencil icon). Try Settings->Help->Uninstall Toolbar from the Y! Toolbar itself. -T P.S. If this doesn't work and you need more help, leave additional information - I do check back on questions I answer.

If Y toolbar is not in add/remove it may be gone. Use the ie icon on the desk top to bring up a new frame. Restart if its not gone. In view above enter toolbars and click yahoo to uncheck and hide it if it is still there.
