How can I change pop up blocker settings?

Why won't my Yahoo Pop-Up Blocker stay enabled when I change to a new page?

  • I feel like I have some kind of adware that disenables the blocker, but I can't find it. Once a pop-up opens its address changes so fast I can't read what the original was to even attempt to find it and Anti-Spy hasn't helped me get rid of whatever causes this permanently. I do see "click" or something with "click" in the address of many of these pop-ups when it first opens.

  • Answer:

If you are using IE 7 or using IE 6 under Windows XP Service pack 2 or 3, then you don't need to use the pop-up blocker on the Y! toolbar. Either turn if off (by clicking it) or remove the button. Click IE Tools button and on the drop-down list, you will see Pop-Up blocker. It is recommended to use only one pop-up blocker and preferably the one provided by the browser. Even Yahoo! doesn't have a pop-up blocker under Firefox because Firefox comes with one built-in. If you prefer, you can report the problem to Yahoo!
