How to delete Internet address box forever?

How can you delete the adress bar history on internet explorer?

  • I have tried to delete the history a lot of ways but some can't work out because my computer is a school computer and the administator locked alot of things. Is there any way, that i can just delete it? it cant be that hard. these are the things that i have tried but havent worked.... 1. i ve tried going to RegEdit and going to microsoft, and deleting the Urls but it still shows up on the address bar. 2. ive also tried going to tools, internet options, browsing history, checkin the box that says (delete browsing history on exit) but it wont let click on it, because it looks like the administator locked it or somethin. 3 ive also tried puttting the little "X" for delete on the address bar near the address. It deletes but when i open a new internet explorer, it appears there again. ***I need to find a way please, if you peeps can help me. i got nothing else**** thanks in advance -Michelle Gurdettna

  • Answer:

It seems to depend on which version of Internet Explorer you have. I'm on two computers right now and I just got it done in IE8 on mine but not in IE7 on the work laptop. In IE8, just move the the mouse pointer over the end of the line you want deleted and an x appears. Click and its gone. If you really must look at sites you don't want your school administrator to see, you can click Safety > InPrivate Browsing before you start your session.
