Why is Internet Explorer 7 is so slow?

Why do I need Internet Explorer 7 for the yahoo toolbar, if I have INTERNET Explorer 8?

Now, however, when I try to open Yahoo!, I get a message from Yahoo! toolbar to install Internet Explorer 6 or 7. Why? And can anyone help me get rid of the message?

    This is a problem with IE 8 Beta and the Yahoo! Toolbar. If you're running IE 8 Beta, you need to configure it to access yahoo.com in compatibility mode.
