Why can't I get yahoo toolbar for firefox to download?

  • I get the error message "Firefox could not install the file at http://us.dl1.yimg.com/download.toolbar.yahoo.com/dl/toolbar/us/yahootoolbar-1.3.0_us.xpi because: Download error i'm using Firefox version 1.5.0.7

    It shouldn't have been cached, but maybe it was. Try "Tools - Clear Private Data" and clear out your cache and browser history and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, try creating a new profile "firefox.exe -profilemanager" and see if you can install it there. If it still doesn't work, you know it's not a problem with Firefox, and you should check your network, firewall, internet security app, etc. Worst case, you can get the toolbar by installing Messenger.
