How do I permanently remove the Yahoo task bar?

Remove Yahoo search bar from task bar?

  • My new HP Media Center PC came with a Yahoo search bar on the Task Bar. I've tried all I can think of to remove it --any ideas??

  • Answer:

All the other answers were from people who had not had the opportunity to see your new Vista machine from HP, as such they were misguided. The answer is, right click on a piece of the taskbar (the shinny black bar where your running programs are shown). Make sure its far to the left from the "hp Yahoo! Search" area. Once you right click, choose "Toolbars >" and uncheck the HP Advisor. Hope you haven't gone too crazy trying to get rid of it (I certainly did!)

That's one way but the easiest would be to go to the control panel. Then do the uninstall programs. Find the yahoo bar icon and click on it and then click on uninstall. That will take it out.

Click start, go to run, type in msconfig-click the startup tab..Find it in the list, and uncheck it, then apply ok..You will have to reboot, before it takes affect..Good Luck..
