How did I get Emoticons for your Messenger program on my computer?

Its from bandoo.com or something...I just got a new laptop and I downloaded yahoo toolbar today. Did it come with that?? I tried going on control panel to uninstall it but it didnt show up. so i did a system restore to delete all the files/programs i downloaded from yesterday to today. and it supposedly downloaded 40 minutes ago. i deleted it from my shortcuts but how do i know for sure that its completely gone? i dont want a virus when my laptop is not even a week old. help!!

This illustrates so well why one should never leave their computer when downloading, especially when downloading Free programs or apps. Because they're giving you this at no cost, they feel entitled to add just about anything under the sun along WITH what you agreed to at first. Okay, but since they cannot do this without your permission those additions won't be presented until some point later in the download. If you're not there to check the , "no" box, they install all that crap. Me? I'd remove the program entirely then reinstall it while not allowing those other items on. How? By being there through the download (1 min) and paying attention to what's being offered and selecting No to them. Start>> Add and Remove Programs>> Yahoo Toolbars>> Remove. Finally, NEVER get downloads from secondary sites (at least not until you know the few trusted sites to get them from). As this is a Yahoo product, come to Yahoo for it: http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/
