Having Yahoo! Bookmarks Trouble? Read this.?

  • Have you been having trouble with Yahoo! Bookmarks lately? Here's a public service for those of you in the Yahoo! community that are having problems adding/deleting/editing Yahoo! Bookmakrs: If you sign in to http://bookmarks.yahoo.com/ you will be greeted with the following message at the top of the page that explains the situation:: "To Yahoo! Bookmarks users: Yahoo! Bookmarks will be undergoing site maintenance from 1-August-2011 to 31-October-2011. During that time, you will not be able to add new bookmarks. You will, however, still be able to view your bookmarks during this time. Sorry for the inconvenience." Note that this is a direct quote from Yahoo! and not just an opinion. My own testing confirms that you can still: 1) view your Yahoo! Bookmarks 2) use them to navigate to the bookmarked web site(s) - i.e. click on them and you are taken there. 3) export Yahoo! Bookmarks Items 1 and 2 can be done from the Yahoo! Toolbar "Bookmarks" app AND from the Yahoo! Bookmarks page (http://bookmarks.yahoo.com/). What you CAN'T do until maintenance is complete: 1) add any new bookmarks 2) delete any existing bookmarks 3) move bookmarks between folders 4) create bookmark folders Good luck, -T
