Why will the new yahoo toolbar 8.3 not install?

Unable to install yahoo toolbar 8.4?

• Windows Vista home premium, IE 9, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011. Tried downloading Yahoo! Toolbar 8.4 a few times over the past few weeks with no success. Thought I had it once; showed up when accessed "manage add ons" from IE menu bar/tools. Showed up, but said status "New" and could not enable. Could not find toolbar .exe file anywhere, so had to go back to Yahoo! to download again. This last time I thought it was gonna go through OK, but got message that SmartScreen Filter (Windows Security logo) had no info on the download file and it could harm the computer. My only options open to me then were "do not run program" or "delete program." I did go to control panel and uninstall Yahoo toolbar and all files with same date. Same problem occurred. What do I do now? Forget Yahoo toolbar and use Google or another one? I want to use Yahoo toolbar, but I guess it doesn't want me to use it. Help, please.

  Maybe you have Vista Home Premium 64 bit Edition. Maybe you are trying to install Yahoo toolbar on the 64 bit Version of IE 9 (which is a no no). If so, try installing on the 32 bit Version of IE 9. I currently don't have access to a Vista system. However, on a Windows 7 system with IE 9 you are not limited to "do not run program" or "delete program". Look closely and you should see something to click that gives you the option to override and install. Make sure you are downloading Yahoo toolbar from web page toolbar.yahoo.com.
