Why will the new yahoo toolbar 8.3 not install?

When I install Yahoo toolbar, bad things happen. Why?

  • I've had yahoo toolbar for years and it's always worked fine. I even formatted my computer this March and installed it and it worked fine. I just formatted my computer yesterday, and installed the toolbar, and suddenly when I browse IE 6, even on the yahoo website, no images show up, every site is just text and links. When I uninstall yahoo toolbar, my browsing goes back to normal, but when i have it installed, no images, the html tables look all out of order on the sites. How do I fix this? I went to Y! toolbar troubleshoot, but it had nothing for this. It started acting up after I downloaded divx. Then I unstalled and reinstalled the toolbar, it worked for a little bit, then i closed IE and reopened it, and it doesn't work now. And please don't say to use a different browser =P

Sounds like you need to update Java and flash to their latest versions so that they will display everything correctly.

That happened to me too. =/

Wow. This is really weird. I had re-installed Yahoo toolbar tonight, and suddenly I couldn't open my e-mail folders. I did a system Restore, the toolbar came off, and now I can again access my e-mail. I even emptied my cookies and cache in case there was a corrupt cookie in there. I'm beginning to think there IS something up with the toolbar.
