No. I do NOT want to sign up for Norton. If I wanted to sign up for Norton, I would go to Symantec or Download.com. I want my Yahoo Antispy button back! :( Boooo! Hissss! Bad Show!

Answer:
I think there is some confusion about the new Yahoo! toolbar. The new toolbar comes in two flavors, one with Norton Spyware Scan and one without it. Norton Spyware Scan replaces Antispy, which you noticed. However, do not confuse Norton Spyware Scan with Norton Internet Security. Norton Spyware Scan is absolutely free and scans only for spyware. Norton Internet Security is another download entirely and it is a suite made up of a antivirus, antispyware and firewall. Norton Internet Security comes with a 30 day trial and is totally optional. I have used Norton Spyware Scan and find it more comprehensive than the older Antispy. Antispy only perform a cursory check on Windows registry and is good for detecting tracking cookies and adware but little else. If you want to go back to the older toolbar, you can still download it at: http://www.download.com/Yahoo-Toolbar-with-AntiSpy/3000-2379_4-10503659.html

Well, since the toolbar is a program that spies on you, they wouldn't want you to detect that, would they?

u can download the Yahoo toolbar with the old anti-spy from http://www.download.com/3000-2379-105036... , bcoz it is not available in yahoo site now, they changed it 2 norton antispy( First uninstall norton antispy, from add-remove programs) Or if u really want 2 use both Norton Antispy and yahoo antispy, try downloading Mozilla Firefox.Latest Yahoo toolbar for mozilla firefox include the yahoo antispy, not norton. Latest Yahoo toolbar for Internet explorer include Norton antispy, which is gud,and completely free( it gets easily confused with Norton Security Suite 30 day trial) but takes more time in complete scanning. I find Spybot and AdAware SE better that Yahoo Antispy and Norton Antispy

You do not have to sign up for Norton to use the Norton Anti-Spy program in the Toolbar. It is free just like the old one. Yahoo is providing you with a free program and Yahoo can change the provider of the AS program anytime the want to. If you was paying for the old AS program you would still have it. I have the old one and the new Nortons AS. If you are not willing to pay for it, then take what you get and be happy about it. They are not required to give you anything.
