How do I uninstall the toolbar?

How do I uninstall Yahoo! toolbar from my computer for good?? I can't get it to come off!?

  • I just bought a new computer with Windows Vista and Yahoo! Toolbar came already installed. I don't want this on my computer. I have tried the uninstall from the control panel, I have tried the uninstall from the Yahoo! Toolbar and I have even tried the uninstall from the Yahoo Program File. I'm out of ideas. Each time I get the error message that it was unable to install.

    You probably deleted something you weren't supposed to. Try deleting it from the control panel, under add/remove programs. If that doesn't work, I figure you deleted the uninstall function, so now when you try to delete it, it doesn't know what to do. I suggest you reinstall it and try uninstalling again.

It sounds like you really know what you are doing. I'm wondering if the problem has to do with privilege level (standard or administrative) under Vista. If you have UAC (user account control) turned off, you may want to turn it on. In any event take a look at this site: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial141.html

Go to control panel in your desk top then add/remove programs and it should be in there, click remove and POOF it's outta there !

Go to "ADD & REMOVE" page and if listed you can "remove" it.. Possibly because it is part and parcel of the service you subscribed to, you may not be able to do so.. You should be able to add a new "HOME" page by clicking on "MICROSOFT",which then should provide you an alternate tool bar..There is a way, it's another cases of "HUMANS" being able to outsmart the computers,which by the way were programmed by humans..
