Why have my bookmarks disappeared?

Why have my bookmarks on toolbar disappeared and where are they?

  • For the last few days my bookmarks have disappeared from my Yahoo! Toolbar and it is making things very difficult!! Has anyone got any ideas on how I can get this back? Many thanks Julie

    Software upgrades are no longer supported on the BT Yahoo! browser, which means you may be unable to access your bookmarks. To access your bookmarks you first need to uninstall your current version of BT Yahoo! browser and download an alternative browser of your choice. To uninstall your existing BT Yahoo! browser: 1. Click on the Start button, select Control Panel and then click on Add and Remove Programmes. 2. Select 'BT Yahoo Applications' from the list and then click on Remove BT Yahoo Browser. We recommend that you download Internet Explorer 8 from the BT Yahoo! Software Centre. You then need to follow these steps to restore your Bookmarks: 1. Go to http://bookmarks.yahoo.com. 2. Sign in with your BT email address and password. 3. This will bring up a list of your bookmarks. 4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Tools. 5. Click on Export Bookmarks. 6. Make sure that all the bookmarks are selected. 7. Below where it says "Select Export Format" make sure it's set for Internet Explorer and click Export. 8. Save to the desktop. 9. Open Internet Explorer. 10. Then click on File, then Import. 11. Select Favourites, then click Next. 12. Browse to the "Bookmarks" file that should now be on your desktop and click Next. 13. Your bookmarks should now be in the favourites tab in Internet Explorer. Hope this helps.

Try clicking om view (if you have it) them click toolbars and check "bookmarks". It works in Firefox.

normally i open by browser with the bt icon on the bottom this opens up BT YAHOOO BROWSER , i too are missing the bookmarks ,but if i open up by using IE ALL my bookmarks are ther ?

Yahoo is updating the site. Since last Thursday, it seems to be a HUGE problem with people, especially in the UK, and especially with btinternet, to have lost their bookmarks. http://bookmarks.yahoo.com/ Your bookmarks should show up here. What I would do is load the newest version yahoo toolbar http://new.toolbar.yahoo.com/ Then you can go to the green button on the far right. Edit your Apps Add Apps All Apps Go to the B's and add the Bookmark icon. Then they "should" appear there. I hope this all works, otherwise call your internet provider.

Some verions of Yahoo are now defuct, not that anyone will tell you. You need to get IE8 and open your browsing session from it. Dont open with the old Yahoo version 1. Log onto the internet 2.
