How to remove Fast Browser Search from Firefox?

• Here's my dilemma: 1) Firefox's default search is Fast Browser Search 2) When I open up a new tab, it shows Fast Browser Search, not Firefox's usual "You've Opened Up a New Tab" 3) Fast Browser Search is really annoying and slows down Firefox. Here's what I've tried: 1) Add/Remove Programs. This took Fast Browser Search off IE but NOT Firefox. It does not show up on add/remove programs anymore, yet it is still on firefox 2) about.config. I change the settings, and the settings are fixed temporarily, but it returns back to Fast Browser Search after I restart Firefox. 3) Uninstall add-on. Uninstalled it, and it's still there. Toolbar and everything. 4) Change the default search back to Google. The search portion does show Google temporarily, but then reverts back to Fast Browser Search after restarting Firefox. Other details: I use Vistax64 and newest version Firefox

• Answer:

  Type the following into the URL thing: about:config Click accept or enter or whatever it says and type into the filter search thing: fast Then right click on all of the results and click reset. Restart firefox and your old default (eg. google) should be your default. Fast browser search will not be removed, but it won't bother you either. As far as I know, there is know way to actually delete it. Hope I helped XD
