How can i use Anti Spyware to my yahoo?

How can I stop being redirected to adware everytime I use Yahoo search?

  • Each time I use Yahoo search, I get redirected to advertisers. I have Norton spyware/adware protection but that does not seem to catch everything.

    You have the "Search Redirect Virus". This virus will change genuine links that appear in Yahoo, or other major search engines, to links to websites about advertisements. You may also experience random pop ups. Using Norton, or any other major anti virus software, will not remove or catch this virus. This is because the virus only infects a select few system files. It does not run a background process either. You will need to use ComboFix. This program is specially designed to deal with this problem. It restores the broken system files back to their original state, thereby removing the virus. Norton used to be a good virus protector, but theyve fallen way down the list. You should also run spyware programs now and then. A couple free ones are Spybot, and AdAware from LavaSoft I tend to only download stuff from CNET ( a long standing and reputable internet site) as they test these downloads before they put them on their site http://www.cnet.com/1770-5_1-0.html?query=spyware&tag=srch I like CCleaner too.
