How do I erase my old key words from the search engine?

How do I erase the words in the Y! search field?

  • One puts in search criteria into the search field, thens clicks search or go. Prior search criteria is remembered and pops up. How does one erase prior search criteria?

  • Answer:

IE6: Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > Clear Forms. This will clear out ALL your autocompleted forms, such as search windows, form fill-ins, etc. You can also reset your Auto-Complete options here. Other browsers have something similar, you just need to find it! Or, to delete just a single (or a few) searches, just have them highlighted in the drop-down list and hit DELETE -- they will vanish! If you hold down the key, the whole drop-down list of searches will delete. If you are using the Yahoo! Toolbar, I believe there is a drop-down box at the end of the search window that has the option to CLEAR SEARCHES on it. BTW, clearing your history, as some people may suggest to do, only clears out the PAGE locations that you have recently visited, NOT the searches!!

Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom
