Why do i get redirected to yahoo?

Why does my internet explorer get redirected to a bogus site when I click on a Yahoo link?

  • I do a Yahoo search, choose a link I want to go to and BANG I am redirected to another search engine, sometimes inappropriate ones that I certainly do not want my kids to see! Is this a virus, a glitch, anything that I can do about it? I have tried typing the link directly rather than clicking on it and still have the same problem. There are some sites I can't ever get to and virtually every site takes two or three tries to "get around" the problem. Any suggestions?

  • Answer:

Sounds like you home page has been hijacked. Try downloading and running Asquared, from Downloads.com. Also download and use the free version of Spyware blaster. Your computer could be full of spyware.

First thing I would do is a SYSTEM RESTORE and revert back to a day prior to this problem. System Restore is undert START -> ACCESORIES -> SYSTEM TOOLS. You won't lose any data doing this, it'll just undo anything that's been installed lately.

Mine does the same. Check and see if the site you want is instantaneously in your "history" list. If so, click on it and it should go directly then. Why it does this, only Yahoo knows. Seems Yahoo is redirecting searches to companies it wants us to go to.

Contact the webmaster of the website you are visiting, it might be a problem on their side.
