How to look up email addresses by name (for free?

Is there a website where you can look up people's email addresses for free?

Ok so, its like this, there's this lady i know who's working on her phd in.... something... i forget actually.... but anyways she gives me a list of ppl that she need's to email things to for her dissertation, and there's like 1500 people on the list. So she tells me that she'll pay me 50 cents for each email address i can get and 10 cents for every phone number... so i'm trying to find out how i can find out these email addresses with out having to pay for some online search service thing... does anyone know could go about finding this stuff out?
