What's going on with my Safari browser?

Why when I go to Yahoo on my iphone does it take me to Yahoo mobile all of a sudden?

  • I have had my iphone for a few weeks now and when i first started going to Yahoo in the Safari browser it took me to the Yahoo home page like you would see on a computer but starting today it makes me go to yahoo mobile/oneSearch which i don't like is there anything i can do to make it go to the regular yahoo home page.

    This is retarded. My iPhone is too now so I have to google yahoo answers to get here. If I wanted yahoo mobile then I'd google it. Grr

Ok. I posted the same question last night as well but I found this one first so I'll post my answer here. You can work around this by going to yahoo.com/?a instead of the regular yahoo.com. I have no idea why either Yahoo or AT&T is doing this because it sucks. Maybe a bandwidth issue? IDK but I hope they change it back. In the meantime this workaround works.

same thing happened to me today. I thought I changed something accidentally. I don't like it! Bring back the regular Yahoo!!

Agreed. Bad decision on Yahoo's part to assume limited funtionality from phones. Mine, too, changed today & if anything being forced into Yahoo mobile will make me stop using Yahoo whereas it's pretty much always been my jumping off point of choice. They should at least allow for an override and allow you to choose the original (fully functional) site if you choose. I'll call them tomorrow to complain and see if there isn't an alternate solution I can post.

I was also upset over this but I found if you type this address in it will bring you to the normal page www.yahoo.com/?a just be sure to use this exact URL

I just noticed the same thing on my Touch which I've had for a few months but have no idea why.

I found a semi-normal Yahoo! page. Yay! Go to http://cm.my.yahoo.com/?_bdetect=1 Hopefully this problem is only temporary. D:
