    South Mumbai and Western Mumbai rent is Rs.10000 to Rs.20000, Suburb rent starts from Rs.1000 to rs.5000.

jay my friend. bombay is a huge place. its up to you where in bombay you want to stay, accordingly the rent differs. if you want to live in andheri and bandra side( which is the western sub urbs) u will end up spending not less then 10K atleast per month. if you want to settle some where towards the town side that is south bombay( like colaba or fort etc etc) the rent might be even higher. and if you want a peaceful place to reside, but ready to commute to office daily then new bombay is the best for you. the rent would start from 5k onwards and range til 10 k depending on which part of new bombay you want to live in.
