What is the requirement of TIN in a business? (delhi,India)?

I have just started a small scale marketing business by investing Rs.40,000 last month. Does I require TIN no? my company is not registered. Some buyers demand for proper BILL. Please advice ...

It is a mandatory requirement. If your turnover(sales) exceeds Rs2-00 lakhs in a year, you must have Temporary Identification Number,allotted by the Commercial Tax Department. Depending upon your turnover, you should file either quarterly(3 months) returns or if the turnover is more, monthly returns must be submitted. TIN is a must for every business. Obtaining the number does not depend upon the investment. If you are trading in any VAT related products, it is better to get the TIN.
