What country, your previous knowledge of the language before and after your exchange, was it fun, which country would you recommend for me etc... I've taking two years of Spanish by next year but idk if I want to go to a Spanish country?....thanks!! 1 day ago - 3 days left to answer.

Answer:
My junior year of high school I spent half the year living in Haiti, not on an exchange program but it was amazing. Seriously the best decision I ever made. I learned more there than ever in school at home. I went there having taken four years of French so that was very helpful in learning the language (Creole is very similar to French). Now I am in college and next year I will be spending 5 months in South Africa. For this trip I'm taking some classes beforehand just to learn about the culture but they speak a lot of English so I will be good there. I am hoping to learn some Swahili though! The best part of a study abroad is being able to learn from professors of another culture and to immerse yourself in the culture to really get the experience. The one thing about going to a Spanish speaking country is your Spanish will improve so quickly that you may be able to a level or two in high school. This happened to me and I came into college with almost a French minor already. I had a friend who lived in Guatemala in college, shes a Spanish and Education major but I know she absolutely loved it. I'm sure wherever you choose you will fall in love with it :)
