I want to work abroad.

I want to work abroad. I'm not picky (not too picky) as to were it is. Are there any programs?

  • I am interested in working abroad I just don't know how to go about it. I was hoping you guys knew some working abroad programs I can use to get myself started. I am aiming for about a year in work-abroad.

  • Answer:

What are your credentials? Do you have at least a baccalaureate degree plus experience in your field? Those are typically the minimum requirements for any employer to obtain any employment visa for their employees. In many cases, advanced degree(s) and some serious expertise is going to be essential to be able to get a job & employment visa. E.g. teaching English overseas is widely touted as a way to work abroad, and there are plenty of "schools" which claim you can earn certification as a TEFL instructor. However, certification is not sufficient for any sort of decent, legit job & employment visa for most countries. You need at least a bachelors degree, often masters, in English, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, etc, plus TEFL certification and teaching experience to get any kind of decent employment with a reputable school, university or company. Lots of scams abound in this TEFL business these days. So what are your credentials? What country do you aim to go to? Do you meet that country's visa requirements for some type of employment visa?
