Is the University of reading, UK, a good university?

Should I study abroad at the University of Reading in Reading, England?

• I am from Arizona and have never been to England before (however, I do have many relatives who live near Manchester and Leicester and my Grandma and my Mom were both born in England). Neither of them know much about Reading though. I would like to know what it is like to live there and what the University is like. What are the people like? I'm a little bit nervous to be so far from home and not know ANYONE! I just hope the people of Reading are as nice and funny as my relatives from other parts of the country. How would you compare going to the University of Reading compared to say King's College or the University of Westminster in London? Any information would be great! If I really enjoy my semester abroad I am considering moving to England when I graduate from the University of Arizona!

  Hiya :) Well, i can tell you that both Reading and Kings and very prestigious universities in England.. Westminster is also a nice uni (my uni) although perhaps not as prestigious.. however... westminster is the best placed uni if you are looking to enjoy all of london. It is perfectly placed.. very close to central london and you can really see and do a lot arouind westminster... (kings is also a good location) Reading would suit you if you are not looking to stay in the hustle and bustle of london... Reading itself is a large city .. with good shops, restaurants and pretty good night life... it is approx 20- 25 mins on a fast train to london or 35 - 40 mins on a slow one. Personally i prefer london to reading, jus because i love to be in the middle of everything.. but reading is lovely.. Hope i helped, enjoy England!
