I want to be a foreign exchange student, but what country should I choose?
-
Well, actually it's my mother who wants me to be a foreign exchange student. We were thinking about Spain, but my mother doesn't want me to get hurt because apparently Spain is "unsafe". I need a country that speaks some Romance language and that I hopefully won't be killed in. I can learn the culture and, if the language is derived from Latin, the language. Oh yeah. My mom says the people in the country I am sent to shouldn't speak English as its main language (i.e. England). I am pretty stupid when it comes to countries. So far, we've got France, Belgium, and maybe Italy as suitable countries, but I also might go to Guatemala if my mom's not too afraid of me being kidnapped for ransom. I can't go to Spain or Romania for safety issues. Help, please?

This is an absurd question but I'll try to answer it seriously anyway. Safe countries: Denmark, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Uruguay, Finland, Germany, Belgium...

It sounds to me that you think The United States in the safest place in the world. you and your mom are watching to many movies. I traveled to Puerto, Mexico, England, Dominican Republic and I have never had any problems. I see it like this if something is going to happen to you it would happen no matter where you are. If you really want to go to spain go, spanish is a common language in the United States you will use it a lot. why do you want to learn a language nobody speaks here ?, but is your choice.

You're kidding, right? Any Western European country is FAR safer than the US and about a billion times safer than Guatemala.
