How to apply for grants to study a foreign language abroad?

I (an American citizen) want to study a vocation in Heidelberg and I need help with something!?

  • Hello Yahoo Community, I'm currently a uni student in Philly, however, I so want to desperately study at F+U Heidelberg Language Academy to pursue an apprenticeship as a Foreign Language Correspondent, it's perfect for me. My sole problem at this point is getting the money for it (via scholarships, grants, etc). Not being an EU-citizen or resident in Germany doesn't help me either in this situation. I'm not eligible for the Bildungskredit (which I was banking on, but so much for that). My parents aren't rich. The DAAD only offers money for grad level students, but I'm undergrad and I'd be attending a language academy, not a uni. Basically, my question to you all is do you know of any organizations, scholarships, donors, etc that have available funds for someone in my situation? Suggestions and tips and all other relevant things are appreciated. Sorry to sound like a whinger, guys. Thanks

  • Answer:

See what you can find out about the Rotary Club scholarships. Also, there's a Fulbright program for students to study in other countries. You apply through your university for that.
