How do I go about being a foreign exchange student?

I really want to go to Denmark or England as a foreign exchange student. But how can I convince my parents?

  • Also, I speak English and Danish fluently (so learning to language isn't a good reason to go there.) If I were to stay in Denmark I could stay with family. But the problem is how can I convince my parents to be away for so long when they won't even let my fly by self just to visit family in Denmark? This is something that I really badly want (more than anything) and I think it could be a great opportunity for me.

  • Answer:

I did a foreign exchange as a junior in high school. I went through the Rotary program. for me, all said and done it cost around $4,000 for the year in which I paid to the program. Maybe when you are older than freshman, your family will let you go. I would start to save money now and get good grades in school to show your parents that you are responsible and serious about going.
