Are colleges usually strict with prerequisites?

Cheap film colleges/universities in Canada?

• Hi, I'm a current student here in Sydney Australia, studying my cert IV in Screen and Media. Topping all my classes. Went straight to TAFE after I finished high school. Anywho, I'm looking into studying over seas in Canada/U.S which is what I've always wanted to do my whole life. Money is sort of an issue though, I've tried googling cheap colleges in Canada (specifically vancouver) and I can't seem to find anything except alot of expensive tuition fees ranging from 35k+ Anyone know a cheap college that teaches film but is also quite reputable? And is the education system similar to the Australian one? Like do I need extreme prerequisites to get into a university? Also, I've never left the state or country so my understanding of overseas education is very vague.

  Check out Ryerson University in Toronto has a really good Film Programme and also Theatre and Performing Arts programme. A single year tuition for an international student would run between $16,000 and $17,000. www.ryerson.ca search for their international student handbook
