What is the best university to study law?

What subjects should I choose if I want to study law at university?

  • Hi guys, I would like to study law at university in the UK and I am struggling with my IB subject choice... This is what I am thinking at the moment: Maths HL History HL Economics HL French SL Chemistry SL English SL I know it's better to take English HL but i doubt I can do it because English is not my mother tongue. I think I can do better in Chemistry than Economics but Economics HL is more essential if you want to study law, right? Also, is it good to do History HL if you are not doing English HL? thanks a lot!!! :))) P.S. Please sure your IB subject choice as well if you don't mind :) much appreciated! :))) THANK YOU!

Of the subjects you list, Economics and English are the best choices. Depending on what branch of law you want to get into, however, you might find Political Science or Philosophy more useful. Philosophy isn't just Plato and Metaphysics; areas like Ethics, Logic, and Philosophy of Law are essential to legal thinking. It may be difficult in the UK but many American Universities offer Philosophy Pre-Law programs that focus on courses useful to a lawyer.
