Can I apply to the UK universities and Irish ones?

What way do American universities work?

• I'm in my first year of doing a National Extended Diploma in Music Technology in Northern Ireland, when I finish this I hope to go to Berklee College of Music in Boston to do Music Production and Engineering. I thought I had American universities all sorted out but apparently I do not. I gather that a Major is something you study in America and it's the same as the qualifications you do in university in the UK when you leave school, but do you just do the one major with like, no other classes at all? or can you do different ones simultaneously?   Different Universities will decide what qualifications you need to fulfil to graduate -- with some similarities. A "Major" is your main course of study. It will be the subject in which you take the most classes or credits. Some people "Double Major", e.g. English and History. You usually need to take classes in other areas as well. For example, I was a History Major, but I was a Spanish Minor. My school also made me take mandatory courses in either Math or Science. If I had been a Math or Science major I would have had to take English, History or Language courses. They try to balance you out. You can do them, usually, simultaneously. For example, 0ne semester I had Aspects of the Holocaust (History); The Bolshevik Revolution (History); Advanced Spanish Composition and Conversation; Music Theory (fun elective); and Ecology (almost killed me).
