How do you become a voice actress or voice over?

In what college should I go, so that I can become a japanese voice actress?

  • I have a dream to become a japanese voice actress, I know how to speak japanese and pronounce the words well, but I lack studies on kanji (japanese characters) and I dont study in Japan, I was hoping if there's an international college that could teach me how to act in japanese language just any college except for Japan. If anyone knows something about it could you please tell me?

    I'm from Japan, I'm not a seiyuu, though. Even when a Japanese person wants to become a voice actor/actress, he/she needs to practise very hard. Many many people go to a voice acting training course but very few become a voice actor/actress. I am not an expert, but I guess you need to be perfect at Japanese, including reading kanji. To learn how to act in Japanese, you have to come to Japan, at least. Not an international college outside of Japan, even if there are such schools. In truth, you're Japanese will have to be pretty damn good. go to yahoo japan, and start learning to read Kanji You can't become a japanese voice actress, if you can't read or write Japanese. Speaking is one thing, reading and writing instructions is a key thing in TV (regardless of country). My tip, learn japanese as best as you can (i.e. go to a local school and take one or two years to learn it properly). Believe me, once you're in Japan, it's nothing like back home. So no matter how much you prepare, expect to be spoken in unexpected varying styles of Japanese language.
