Is England good country to study in?

Which is a better country to study abroad in-England or Ireland?

  • I am going to study abroad next fall and am torn between these two countries. I am a twenty year old biochem major. Which is the most friendly to americans/has a good night life/less expensive. Thanks for your opinions.

  • Answer:

I would choose Ireland, few countries are more picturesque. While London may have all that life has to offer,I would think that Glasgow has a few good points as well.In my estimation,it is cheaper to boot.I suppose that the Irish are as friendly as they get. If you are good at schmoozing(making friends easily and talkative),then pick Ireland.

Outside London, the UK is going to be less expensive. What University / Universities are you looking at? Some University biochem. departments are much more directed towards the human medical side than others, because of strong links with their medical school. Edinburgh is one. Others do courses combined with another science, biophysics, microbiology, chemistry etc. There is a lot more choice in the UK. Take a look at Queen's University Belfast - they have a large Biochemistry department and a city with nightlife, and not too expensive.
