What field of study to major in?

What would one have to major in or study in college in order to go into the FBI field?

  • I'm in my junior year of high school and I would like to start applying for colleges/ universities. I want to be an FBI agent and I'm thinking I would have to take criminal justice as a major. I just want to know if I'm right or what other classes I would have to take with this major to qualify to become one.

    You would have to major in criminal justice. You would take classes like, Intro to criminal justice, Criminal Justice System in the U.S., Policing, Criminal Courts, Corrections, Research Methods, Forensic Chemistry, American Constitutional Law, American Government, Crime and Punishment, Criminology, etc. You would also be doing a lot of field work. You could minor in Psychology (to learn about the different mindsets people have) or in Chemistry (if you want to work in a lab). Also you could take many different types of computer classes to work with hackers and encryptions. You should ask a counselor for universities that are prefect for that type of field your going in.

You could minor in Psychology (to learn about the different mindsets people have) or in Chemistry (if you want to work in a lab). I would also recommend talking to a guidance counselor both at your high school and the college(s) you plan to attend.
