Should I go back to India for medical school?

• i'm a grade 11 student and i came to canada from india when i was 7 or 8 years old. i never really contemplated going back, until i heard about all of the doctors who are going back now, even from places like the UK! is it because india has more opportunities available now? i honestly think it's much better than where i live. delhi seems to be more developed than here, i swear. i want to pursue a career in medicine. is it worth my while to back to india for medical school? i'm not sure where i will end up after that, so should i just go there and save 4 years of my life? or should i go to university here and take the usual 8 year path and then decide where i want to be? what would you do? i really miss it back home and i know it's better than where i live in a lot of ways. it's just such a huge risk and most of my family is here. i'm not so concerned about the permanent move or anything, just about if it's a good idea to go to med school there or here. please help me! also, does aiims have an international reputation? and does it ever take any nri students?

  India will always need medical experts because of their high population. If you speak any of the languages spoken in India, I would say it is a good experience to have behind you. In my opinion, studying medicine in India is something you should consider doing for your second or third year of college. Depending on what your goals are in medicine and what title you wish to achieve, studying abroad will add a good perspective to the world of medicine. If you're about money, go to the US where doctors take home paychecks that would honestly shock you. Get a PhD and you're set.
