Is it hard to transfer over a nursing degree obtained in Australia to Sweden?

American student studying in Canada?

  • i want to study in a Canadian university, but if i get my Bachelors of nursing there will i be able to transfer the degree easily? and if i get a Bachelors in Canada can i automatically work in Australia since Australia and Canada are part of the Commonwealth Countries?

  • Answer:

Canadian degrees are generally accepted in most western countries. They are generally equivalent to degrees in other countries. Having a Canadian degree won't help you work in Australia -- or even Canada -- any more than a US degree would. The Commonweath is a loose collection of countries with a shared history of British rule. They don't share immigration policies, education systems, etc. However, many Canadian universites do not open their nursing programs to international students due to the popularity and limited seating. Competition may also be heavy. Finally, in most regulated industries, you have to be certified in each country (and often state/province/territory) you wish to work in. You'll probably have to complete a specific practicum, exams, or certification in Australia. If you are going to get a degree overseas... why not go do Australia and get a nursing degree?
