What is a good website to find host families in Japan?

How can I find a good host family to live with if I want to study abroad?

  • I'm really interested in studying abroad in a couple months or later in Tokyo, Japan (so please don't tell me about Spain). I want to study over there for a year or so, and I can switch families every couple of months. Right now I'm 5 months away form turning 15. Where can I find a good organization to help me out with all of this and help me plan my trip? AND PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME SOME CRAPPY LINK FROM ABOUT.COM THAT'S TOTALLY USELESS.

    The American Field Service is the oldest and most secure of the student exchange programs. I hosted a Japanese student and my daughter later studied in Mexico, both through AFS. I can't say enough good things about both experiences. http://www.afs.org/afs_or/home

It may help IF you reword your question to clarify so the first line shows Japan, eg Want host family in Japan ;-) For specific help there are several organizations which do this, eg Rotary. Many boarding schools establish and maintain international links with exchanges of students with other overseas schools so may be able to assist you find contacts.
