Can I do a high school exchange to the USA?

How a exchange studant that will pass on year high school can stay here in USA and stay for a universty here?

• I`m a exchange from Brazil and I`m making the high school here this year, I have 17 years and i will make 18 in february,2012 , so if i come back i dont have to make more the high school, i will have to find a universty, but i really want to make a universty here in USA. Well i really dont know how or if is possible, i dont know if i can find a universty here like a normal american student or if have to be more complicated. Please i really need help, the universty here is really better than brazil, and i know that its a really good oportunity for me, for my future. Thanks

  Glad to hear that you've had a good experience in the USA during your Exchange. In order to do post-secondary studies in the U.S., first, you would need to apply for a Student Visa for the duration of your University Studies. This can be done at the American Consulate in Brazil. You will need to prove that you have enough money or funding/loan available to pay for your tuition and for your living costs. You would not be able to work in the United States unless you also had a Work Visa/Green Card. Then, upon hearing confirmation of your Student Vise, it is just a matter of applying to the educational institute that you want to attent - Community College, College/University. You can check the University websites for information about high school prerequisites, grade point averages and test scores required for International Students to attend. Good Luck!
