How can I become an exchange student?

I would really like to become an exchange student but I don't know how it all works... Can any one help?

I am really interested in becoming an exchange student but no one seems to know much about it. This all started because a guy from Europe moved to a little bitty town... my town... Henry County. he was just visiting but he and his parents decided they like America better so they have bought a house down here now... I am from a very little town in Tennessee. I am also a very country. I would love to go to Paris, France but I don't quite know what to do to be asked or selected or what ever happens... please help me out here...
