I see no reason to go to the Dominican Republic to study something as simple as psychology. First of all, it is a very common degree that holds no real weight or respect in general. Its regarded as an easy degree. Its available at almost every college in the USA. You can go to a state university after doing two years at a community college. That way you get to pay $300/ semester for in state/ in county tuition at community college and $1500 a semester for the 4 year university. I am talking a full time load. While we are on the subject of your education: Why not do something more in demand and that will help you get a real job? I am talking things like healthcare. Nursing, Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy. Or go technical as in engineering related. Biomedical tech, solar panel installation and repair, wind energy tech. Look at these options. Some of the courses I mentioned take two years, some four years and the others are 6 years. I guarantee you will be smiling after graduating and you will have a firm job offer. With psychology... good luck. You probably will not get a real job anywhere.

When I was going to College which it’s been a while... Any who I wanted to study in Spain. My academic adviser told me that I could study abroad but I need to come back my last quarter or semester (depending on your college or sister college abroad) and finish it in the State, so it could be valid. If I didn't, then I had to come back and take course and tests which would certified me in my career. I hope this helps... Best of luck.

It all depends on the profession. If, for example, you go to med school outside of the United States and then want to come back and practice medicine here, you'll need to make sure you have the appropriate license to practice your profession. For more detailed information, I'd suggest talking to someone currently working in the profession you wish to enter. Or, even better, see if there's a professional organization you can turn to for advice. Otherwise, I can't really give much of an answer due to the vagueness of your question. Sorry.

Your question is a good one, but it is vague. Some states won't accept the validity of the college out of country. Some will. Don't rely on the college in the Domincan to give you the correct answer, they are a business. Ask companies that would be hiring you once you are done. Good luck, but definetly stay in school !
