  • I am a high school sophomore and I am completely undecided as far as my future major, college, career, etc. But I am interested in studying abroad. Any good programs, websites, info, etc? Thankss. (:

  • Answer:

Well it sounds like you definitely have a bright future ahead of you if you are thinking about your college major already. Choosing a University or Program to Study Abroad with is a very personal choice influenced by desired college major, interests, goals, location, specific skill sets etc.. If you are looking for some broad suggestions though, here are just a small few to help you expand your options: * Long Island University - known also as the 'Global College,' this university allows all 4 years of the bachelor degree to be completed studying abroad. Locations include Japan, South America and many more. * University of San Diego - This University has very high student satisfaction from it's graduates and is great if you are interested in Education or Social Sciences. Many of it's degrees require the student to obtain a multi-cultural experience following the requirements of SOLES-Global course study. * Ithaca University in Ithaca, NY - Renowned for diversity with a spectrum of majors, courses and options for studying abroad. * Arcadia University in Pennsylvania - Also known as the College of Global Studies, this University is also popular by many standards. It offers study in China, New Zealand and many more. * Some extra programs and websites you may find helpful are... USAC - University Studies Abroad Consortium; studyingabroaddirectory.com; Notre Dame University is also well known for many of these programs You should check the colleges where you prefer to live first; however, and see if they also offer these programs. Many Universities do, even if they don't openly advertise it. Also, another tidbit of advice is to make sure you take all the Aptitude tests available, as well as scheduling some time with a guidance counselor. Using those resources can give you a much better idea of your possible interests too. Hope you found that helpful. Best of luck with your college hunting!
