Has anyone been on student exchange in another country?

How do you become an exchange student?

  • I love the whole idea of going to another country , and learning, i think its great. I just dont understand how it works. i live in vancouver, does anyone know how it works? do you have to pay? .. i dont understand it at all. But i would love to be an exchange student

  • Answer:

Normally you apply through the exchange program of your home university - I did my degree in Australia for example but I did an exchange term at Queen's University in Ontario. It's great, a really good experience. The program set up normally means that you pay your fees at your home university, and cover your travel and living expenses for the exchange yourself, then you get an ungraded pass/fail mark from the exchange university on your academic transcript back in your home university once you return. The other alternative is to be a full international student in another country, and do your entire degree there. But that means paying international student fees, which are normally quite expensive.
