I'm also in the IB program does that qualify? Can't I get a scholarship to study abroad like for Ballet or Violin I'm in the 9th grade by the way.If anyone can help I'll be very grateful this is one of my dreams to study in Korea.

  • Answer:

You can't. EVERY program, even Rotary, is going to cost something. You may also have living expenses while you are there. Rotary will be your best bet ... be aware it's highly competitive. http://www.rotary.org/en/StudentsAndYouth/youthprograms/RotaryYouthExchange/Pages/ridefault.aspx Unfortunately, the reality is exchanges ARE expensive and you will be expected to do some fundraising on your own

I was an exchange student and it cost only $500.00 for the plane ticket. I had a year to work and save the money myself. Check out your local Rotary chapter. Rotary exchanges are fabulous. I lived in Mexico for a year and then they also sent me to Brazil and Argentina for free! You will likely have to pay the plane ticket and you usually have to be in 10th grade to apply; you prepare for a year and then you can go your junior or senior year. It is amazing. If you cannot afford the airfare then it may even be possible to do fund raising or to get a sponsor.

well actually at www.afs.com you can get a creative arts sholorship to study abroad (you could apply for ballet or violin) but it is extremely hard to get chosen. They choose like 2 a year or somthing so yeah. But if you dnt get that theres always normal scholorships that you have to right essays for and stuff. Good luck!

I've never heard of any study abroad program for free. The only way i can think of to go for cheap is to go with a church as a missionary, but you'd have to get someone to pay for you then too And study abroad programs dont give scholarships for that. Usually you have to write an essay and you get around $500 to go toward your program. The price depends on what country you want to go to
