To anyone who has lived in Norway and went to primary school there?

I am currently doing a project and study on international school systems and I picked Norway and 2 other countries. If you lived in Norway and went to primary school there (Or how ever they call it :p), Can you please answer these questions? *When did you start learning english? *How did the teachers teach you? (Strategies, were they fun, did they give you a lot of work, what type of work?) *What do you think the overall education system of Norway emphasizes that other countries don't? *What do you think of your nation's education system? If you can just answer one of these questions, I will be extremely thankful:)

Answer:
None of the teachers I have ever had in english has had the same approach to teaching English and it also change with age. I don't know what they emphasis comped to other countries but from age 6/7to 15/16 you have a very all rounded education then from age 16 to 19 you can choose between a pretty general academics education or a more pratical one. You also study quit a few subjects, in the two first years of High school you study 10-12 subjects before going down to about 8 the last two years of high school. What I think about the Norwegian education? Well I would have liked if they started with grades earlier (they starts with grades when you are 13/14 years old). I would also likes if you could specialize in fewer subjects once in high school , like in UK where you only study 3-5 subjects (One of the reasons I have applied to an UK boarding school). Also sometimes the teachers have a high education within the subject but are not fit to teach it to others. The teacher student is also pretty high from you are 6 years old (1 teacher to 25-30 student are to little expecialy when dealing with 6-8 years old)

One important thing about what Norwegian schools emphasize on is closeness to nature. They take children out to mountains and forests quite often. They are usually protected with heavy clothing so no problem there. You see, Norway is only recently joined the circle of developed countries, and their people still feel close to the environment.
