How can i become a foreign exchange student?

• Well, my life is boring, i do the same things everyday. I go on this web sit, its safe because my dad uses it too. Its were you can talk to people all over the world. I love it so much, its always fun to learn about other cultures, and the way of life others live. Then one day it hit me, why not become a foreign exchange student? I had a friend who has a sister who has this one girl come over and stay with them a few years back, a host family? Well anyways , i am in 8th grade tho, i am 14. But next year i will be in high school, and i will be 15. so does that mean i could do it if i liked? my birthday, is September 1st, so its before school would start. Would i have to talk to my high school before school starts to do it? Or do i need my schools permission? Could i join something that isn't with my school and still go? i would probably like to go , for 3 , or 6 months . How much money could that be? My dad thinks it would be really cool for me to do, he said he would let me go . (:
