What's it like living and studying in Spain?

What programs are there for studying abroad?

• I'm wondering what's a good program for a study abroad in Spain? Has anyone done it before? If you know of a good program and have some details you could give me like, would I be with a group of other students studying abroad, or living with a family in Spain, would it be in the summer, one semester of high school, a whole year? Which grade should I be in? What would I be doing? And how do I arrange it? I am bilingual, but they have me in Spanish 3 right now because freshman aren't allowed to skip to 4 and I'm in a program that requires two years of foreign language credits anyway. Thank you!

  Hey there! Well in terms of your question "would that look good on a college application"....I'm not too sure! I've done both a study abroad program and an internship abroad program. I would say that an internship abroad program would be a lot more useful, more practical, and look better on both your college application and your resume. Anyone who has the money can do a study abroad program--so it doesn't really help set you apart in any real way. I would suggest possibly not doing the Spain thing and instead doing an internship in Asia. Or volunteering abroad in Asia. First off...it will be much cheaper than going to Spain or other parts of Europe. And secondly, it will be extremely different from what you are used to in the U.S. And thirdly, you will stand out more than anyone else your age. You can do it for say 4 weeks during the summer time.
