How can you study abroad in high school?

How to convince my parents to let me study abroad in high school?

• i'm currently a sophomore in high school and i want to study abroad in Ireland next year. I found this really great program that wouldn't be much more that my school tuition (which would get prorated when i was gone). i really want to do this but I'm scared to talk to my dad about this. My mom is open to discussion but my dad isn't. How do I convince him that this would be good for me because I REALLY want to do this.

  I wouldn't recommend going while you're in high school. I would suggest waiting until college for many reasons, including the fact that your parents are much more likely to let you go off to another country on your own after you've been away at college for a year or two. There are a lot of things that come with studying abroad and you are going to want more experience and maturity in order to deal with them.
