What are your good study habits?

What are good study habits that would make you retain what you study better?

  • I'm taking 2 advanced placement classes, and right now I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to pass the class exam let alone the national exam to get the college credits. What would be some good ways to retain all the stuff that I'm learning so I can pass the exams and remember all this crap?

  • Answer:

Take thorough notes during class and then go home and review them. I find it helps to actually review and teach something to yourself, saying it aloud. Quiz yourself and work with a group to teach each other about what you know. I tried this and it really helps. Take notes about things you need to know, reread, and speak it aloud to something. (even if it's just an inanimate object. it sounds stupid, I know, but it really helps to remember these kinds of things) Study pretty much every day and make sure you're never confused. Advanced classes can be tough! Good luck!

what i do in college is highlight important parts and terms of the text book, then create flashcards out of all that i highlighted and notes from class, and study those. although, i'm not sure you can write in your books in high school. if not, i'd recommend writing down everything you read that's important and make flashcards from there.
