  • Will AFS accept me? I would like to study abroad this coming feb. and i'm turning my full app next week I'm from the U.S. and would like to study abroad somewhere/any where in central america for a semester this coming february i feel very nervous because i think i'm late in turning in my application what are my chances of getting in?

  • Answer:

I am applying for the very same thing! Hopefully we will see each other or something haha. I don't think AFS would reject you unless you had a really low GPA or something. Otherwise, I see no reason to not be accepted. And I don't think that you're late turning in applications for 2009 because they still have stuff from 2007 on their website. They haven't even put the 2009 AFS application on the website yet. It comes out on the 1st. I am sending my pre-application on monday. Relax and make sure you call in to check the status of your application after you turn it in. It only takes 4-6 weeks to process an application.

If you turn in your application next week, you'll have enough time. Just don't wait a month or something because then it will be to late. And here's a forum to talk with other exchange students: http://www.cultures-shocked.org/forum/?
