What are the best colleges and universities in Ontario?

  • Please help me. I want to go to a University in or near Toronto. Are the University of Windsor and Ryerson University good schools? What about colleges and Universities in the rest of Canada.

    Choose the Unversity of Windsor, if you want the best of all worlds! U of W has the highest %age of foreign students from every part of the globe. This brings a mix of ideas unmatched in the world! The University of Windsor is 300km west of Toronto... and just 2 miles from major US city, Detroit "Motown", Michigan. Sport-wise the school attracks Detroi students, won OUAA track & men's basketball, and was in football play-offs. Academically, Winsor has a nice mix of brilliant international teachers and students, offering a wider view of issues that matter! U of W is adjacent to the handy Ambassador bridge to the USA, on the (safe) Canadian side of the (2 mile wide) Detroit River, home of the Pistons+Red Wings+Tigers, plus some world class attractions like Greenfield Village. The river provides a great view of a mega skyline, protection from the big city's troublemakers, and a nice close view of giant Lake Freighters! A perfect combination of a modest sized university AND city, next to a mega city (with all the advantages of the big city); just across the river from a "foreign" superpower, yet safely divided by the river, and protected by armed Canada Customs officers on the bridge and tunnel.

The University of Windsor is 300km west of Toronto. Ryerson is a good University...but it does not teach any professional courses. The TOP university for those are University of Toronto (where I got my degree) ... Western (in London)....Queens (in Kingston)...McMaster (Hamilton) and the University of Ottawa. There are a LOT more...but those I have mentioned are best known and well respected institutions.

It depends what you mean by good- it can be a top college but have a bad program for what you want to study You can google "top colleges in Ontario" I would try going to this website: http://www.collegeboard.com/splash/ I'm not sure if it will give you a list of top colleges but you can search colleges in Ontario Just try it
