Is it true that transfer/study abroad students coming to UK university must take a difficult math/science exam?

So i really want to go to university in America, do i take an SAT exam? i live in the UK.?

Am i right? or are there additional exams, that need to be taken? where do i take the exams, when and how do i get hold of the exam papers? are there any websites, or sources of information that have more information on attending university abroad?
